A message from the president

Greetings NABA Family and Friends: It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to NABA Houston’s rejuvenated website! We are doing great things with your help and we definitely want to share our good news with our friends and supporters.

It is a great honor for me to serve as the Houston Metropolitan Professional Chapter’s President. NABA has been very dear to me since my collegiate years and I credit NABA with directly impacting my professional career and continuously providing me with numerous opportunities. NABA is as premier organization.

Our chapter is active within the community through such events as the UNCF Walk-AThon, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and providing toys to underprivileged children through the Annual Breakfast with Santa program. We provide opportunities for networking through social events in conjunction with our Corporate Partners and other professional organizations.

The Houston Chapter has truly embraced the NABA motto of “Lifting As We Climb” through our Student Affairs activities. Our professionals provide development workshops related to resume writing, interviewing skills, professional dress, and etiquette. Student chapters are provided with professional liaisons serving as mentors and advisors. In addition, we provide scholarships with the support of our Corporate Partners.

My administration’s goals are to increase the benefits of NABA Membership by focusing on Professional Development; to encourage more meeting participation/attendance of members; to increase the involvement of executive-level and lifetime members through creation of an Advisory Board; to increase communication through quarterly newsletters and an updated website; and to continue to Enhance the NABA Houston Image.

We look forward to a productive year with your participation.
