Catrese Kilgore, CPA
Catrese Kilgore is the
Controller for The Sterling Group, a private equity firm in
Houston. Prior to joining The Sterling Group in April 2014,
Catrese spent three years as a Senior Manager in EY’s Transaction
Advisory Services practice in both Houston and Chicago. She
specialized in financial due diligence, consulted with both
corporate and private equity investors, focusing on the financial
implications of complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining EY, Catrese
spent eight years with PwC, six years in their St. Louis audit
practice and two years in their Chicago transaction services
practice. In her years at PwC she served in multiple industries
including manufacturing, oil and gas, renewable energy,
healthcare, higher education, and retail and consumer products.

included public and private company audits, initial public
offerings, financial due diligence engagements, employee benefit
plan audits, joint venture formations, and process improvement
projects s
Catrese
is also very active in her local community.
Catrese is
currently the Co-Director of Professional Development for NABA
Houston, and a member of the Houston United Way Women’s Leadership
Council.
In the past
Catrese served as the Director of Public Relations and the
Director of Professional Development for NABA Chicago, served on
the advisory board for Chicago Children’s Home & Aid, sat on the
Leadership Board of Chicago’s Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She
was also an Ambassador for the March of Dimes in both Chicago and
St. Louis. In addition, she was a leader for both PwC and EY's
diversity initiatives, is a frequent speaker on professional
development and diversity topics, and has served as a continued
education instructor for numerous accounting and auditing courses. s |

Billy is a Partner in Audit
practice in the Houston office. He has more than 13 years
of experience and recently returned from a three-year
rotation in KPMG’s Professional Practice Group in New York
City. He has extensive experience performing financial
statement audits and audits of internal controls over
financial reporting for public and private entities. Billy
is also a KPMG national instructor. |

Tyler Cooks is a Staff within Ernst & Young’s Assurance /
Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Commodities Markets
practice in Houston. As a participant in the EY “FAAS Forward
Commodities Markets” rotational program, Tyler spends a strong
majority of his time in external audit serving large SEC public
clients with trading operations, while also having the opportunity
to serve on Financial Accounting Advisory projects within the Oil
& Gas / Commodities industry. Prior to his career in public
accounting, Tyler worked for Invesco, an Investment Management
Company, as a Fund Accountant.

Treasurer James received his B.S. in Finance from The University of Southern Mississippi and obtained his M.S. in Finance from LSU. He’s been an active member since grad school, where he helped charter a student chapter at LSU. He is currently a senior analyst with Cameron, where he has spent the past three years in their Corporate FP&A group. His previous experience was within the consumer finance industry. Since moving to Houston he’s been an active member of the professional chapter as well as various non-profit organizations.

Felicia Waldon is currently a Senior Financial Analyst at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) supporting the HPE Pointnext WW Business Controls & Compliance Finance team. In that role, she fulfills the responsibilities of a controller, financial analyst and business consultant for the company’s Operational Services and Advisory, Professional Services organizations. Prior to joining HPE, Felicia worked for the Big 4 accounting firm, KPMG in San Francisco and Houston. While at KPMG, Felicia planned, supervised and completed financial audits and reviews of varying size and complexity with Pixar Studios being one of her most memorable clients. Felicia currently serves as the Corresponding Secretary for the Houston Professional Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), as well as serving her tenth term as the Executive Director of the NABA Houston Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP). Felicia has had a huge passion for ACAP since serving as a San Francisco ACAP counselor for two years while in college. She has been a professional member of NABA for twenty-one years. Prior to joining the Houston chapter, Felicia was a member of the San Francisco chapter serving in Executive Board roles. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. Felicia is a graduate of California State University Hayward; she is married to John Waldon, and is a proud parent of three children Sydnee, Hunter and Madison. Felicia additionally serves as the Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Omicron Tau Omega ASCEND co-chair.

Charles D. Carter
is a 37-year member of the Houston Chapter and a Lifetime Member
of the Association. He considers himself the link between the
“new” and the “seasoned” members of the Houston Chapter.
Charles served as the Houston
Chapter president from 1997 – 1999 when the chapter was recognized
as a Division I winner for chapter evaluations in successive
fiscal years.
Charles was appointed as the Western
Region’s first Parliamentarian and is noted for ensuring southern
hospitality is a mainstay of the chapter to all who participate in
Houston chapter, Western Region as well as National events.
As the Houston Chapter celebrates its 43rd
year of existence in 2014, Charles pledges to concentrate his
efforts on recruiting past “seasoned” members to enhance
membership and to comprise an effective local Advisory Board, as
well assisting in establishing a Corporate Advisory Board.
Charles is a 16year alumnus of Shell Oil
Co. and currently is the Vice President for Administration &
Comptroller at A-Rocket Relocation Services, a full service moving
and storage company in the Houston area and one of the largest
minority-owned companies in the Houston area. Charles is a 1974
summa cum laude accounting graduate of Southern (Mighty Jaguars)
University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In his spare time he loves to
travel and recently attended the FIFA World Cup in Rio de Janeiro
Brazil.

Immediate Past President
Gene joined Duke Energy Corporation in
the summer of 1999, and was responsible for leading the SEC
Reporting team and Technical Accounting function. In September
2002, Gene relocated to Houston and transferred with Duke to head
up the accounting research function and International Controller.
In January 2007, the Gas Transmission
segment of Duke Energy was spun-off and made public as Spectra
Energy Corp. As a result of this IPO, Gene assumed the role as
General Manager of Corporate Accounting and Research for Spectra
after serving as Canadian Controller for three years.
Gene has held Board positions with the American Red Cross of Greater Rochester (NY), the Black Scholars Association through the Urban League of Rochester, J.J. Christian Ministries, The Black Professionals Alliance, Spectra Energy’s Leadership Development Network and the Duke Energy Volunteer Council.

Director of ACAP
Candice Elliott,
a native of Mobile, AL, graduated from Jackson State University in Jackson,
MS with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 2004. She is currently a Senior Associate
at Stinnett & Associates. She has over 9 years of experience in auditing
within the natural gas and industrial products industries. Previously she
worked as a Risk and Control Specialist for Williams and a Staff Auditor for
KPMG in Houston.
A lifetime
member of NABA, Candice began her student affiliation with NABA as a member
at large. After graduation, she joined the Houston professional chapter
where she has served in various positions including Corresponding Secretary,
Vice President of Community Affairs, Gala Chair, and Director for the
Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP). Candice was first introduced to
ACAP as a counselor for the Jackson State ACAP in 2004. She has also served
on the Student Affairs Committee and assisted with the Regional Student
Conferences and the National Convention held in Houston in 2010.
Outside of
NABA, Candice is involved with the Institute of Internal Auditors, Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Financial Empowerment Committee and Delta G.E.M.S
Committee, the Houston Area Alumni Chapter of the Jackson State University
National Alumni Association, and The Fort Bend Church Children’s Ministry. |

Director of Membership
Dimitri Kennedy is currently a Project Cost Analyst at
Williams. In that role, she is responsible for analyzing
variances in cost and schedule performances against baseline
estimates and schedules for large to mega-projects. She has over
19 years of professional experience in auditing, compliance,
finance and internal controls. |

Director of Membership
Fred Guilbeaux is currently in the Internal Audit group at Live Nation
Entertainment. In this role he is responsible for managing SOX and Operational
audits and liaisons with external auditors on special engagements.
Prior to joining Live Nation Entertainment, he
has had various positions within the accounting and the financial services
industry.
Fred has been an active member of the NABA professional chapter since 2001 serving as the Corresponding Secretary and VP of Community Affairs. In his current position as Director of Membership, Fred plans to work with the president and the other board members to develop a strategic plan for membership. Fred will be responsible for implementing a plan for membership recruitment and a retention program that will address the professional needs of its members.Fred Guilbeaux is a graduate of University of Louisiana - Lafayette, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. Outside of NABA, Fred is also a member of the Houston Institute of Internal Auditors.
